Welcome to Demoskolen

A small school by the fjord, with 120 pupils and one class in every year group. The teachers know every child, and every week has at least one day of outdoor school.

02What we stand for

Four things we hold on to

We go through them with the pupils every autumn, and we bring them out again when something is hard.

  • An adult you trust

    Every pupil should have at least one adult at school they can go to, even with the things that are hard to say.

  • We speak up

    When something is wrong, we say so. Then we put it right together, pupils and adults.

  • We finish things

    Even when it gets boring. That is how you get good at something.

  • Parents are welcome

    The door is open all through the school day. Drop in when you pick up and have a word with the teacher.

03A day at Demoskolen

From morning circle to after-school care

An ordinary school day, Monday to Friday.

  1. Morning

    The day starts with a quiet circle in class. We look at the plan and see who is here.

  2. Lessons

    Norwegian, maths and the other subjects. One day a week the lessons move out into the woods.

  3. Lunch

    Packed lunch in the canteen, with milk and fruit. Three days a week you can order a hot lunch.

  4. Break

    Outside in any weather, and at 10:15 too. In winter the sledging hill wins.

  5. After school

    Years 1 to 4 go to SFO for a snack, play and activities. The older pupils finish at 14:45.

08Admissions

How to apply

The deadline for the school year 2027/2028 is 1 March 2027. Every year group can apply.

  1. Apply

    Fill in the application form, one form per child.

  2. Receipt

    We confirm that we have your application within three working days.

  3. Answer

    Everyone who applies by the deadline gets an answer by 15 March.

  4. Welcome

    Accept by 1 April and you get an invitation to the pre-school day in June.
